Alliance for the elimination of plastic waste

SABIC is a founding member of the Waste Waste Management Alliance, a consortium of 27 companies working together to find advanced solutions to help reduce the mismanagement of plastic waste.

SABIC is also launching a new qualitative project aimed at the chemical recycling of mixed low quality contaminated plastic waste in order to convert it into suitable raw materials for the company's crushing units in Europe. Among these raw materials is pyrolysis oil, Which was either doomed to burn energy to recover or to be buried in landfills.

"The solution to the environmental problem of plastic waste requires the concerted efforts of all sectors of society and the strict adherence of consumers, manufacturers and technology developers," said Yousif Al Bunian, vice president of SABIC. "The individual efforts of a specific company or community without cooperation with Others will not work to solve this problem.
